Rochester, MN Youth for Christ Bible QuizzingCrown College Tournament ResultsCome share the excitement! This is the place to learn about Bible Quizzing in Rochester. Youth for Christ sponsors a very active program involving over one hundred children, teens and adults in friendly competition centered on God's Word. We have monthly events during the Fall and Winter, usually at Emmanuel Baptist Church on the second Saturday. In addition, many of our quizzers compete in regional and national tournaments. And everyone learns and absorbs a lot of Scripture which will stay with them all their lives. What is Bible Quizzing? The World Bible Quiz Association has put together an eight-year cycle of New Testament books which form the basis for the material which the quizzers learn. We're currently studying the Hebrews, I & II Peter. Read it online here! Who can quiz?YFC has two levels in the program. Children from approximately third through sixth grade compete in the Little League. Teens are involved in A/B League competition. Younger children may compete in the A/B League if they want to (but not the other way around). Quizzers may compete as long as they are under 20 years old when the season starts. What happens at a quiz?Quizzing is active! Besides knowing the answer to a question, in order to be allowed to answer, a quizzer must be the first in his group to jump off his chair. We use electronic consoles and seat pads to make this judgment. Jumping is quite an art, and mastering it is an important part of quiz competition. A quiz round consists of 20 questions taken from the book or books being studied. Each month the quiz covers more material than the previous month. Teams from area churches compete two or three at a time for points awarded for correct answers. For all the details, read the rules. Quizzing schedule (2003-2004 season)
