To the Bible Quizzing Family,

First things first. A few of you mentioned to me that some of the videos that were being shown during the down times last Saturday were inappropriate. I want to thank you for bringing it to my attention, and for the straightforward yet kind way in which you did it. The bottom line is that we did not screen the videos which were available to us and so we ended up showing some that were inappropriate. I apologize for this, and feel badly that we created this situation in which some could have reason to be offended. Showing appropriate videos seems like a reasonable way to pass some of the down time, but we have no agenda to pursue anything controversial here. We will make sure that this does not happen again, so you can feel safe to go back into the Sanctuary. Thanks for bearing with us through this.

Other than the incident with the videos, we had an excellent day of quizzing, and I appreciate everyone's positive spirit and contributions to this program. The quiz year is rushing by quickly. Hang in there for one last quiz meet this year, and finish it well!

The Chicago Tournament is coming up soon, one week following our March quiz. Once again I'd like to encourage everyone to go. All who are going will have to register at our March quiz. We will need to work out all remaining details at that time. If you are thinking about going, but were not in the Chicago meeting during the February quiz, please let me know as soon as possible so we can be planning for you. While it may be the most fun to go as complete teams, if there are quizzers who would like to go, but cannot go as a team, please still consider going anyway, as we can put you on a team with other quizzers.

A reminder about the Verse-A-Thon. I'd like to encourage all quizzers to participate. You can use the money you earn towards your Chicago Tournament expenses, and the remainder would benefit the quizzing program. You can turn in the money you raise at any time, but in order to have it go towards your expenses for the Chicago Tournament, you need to turn it in by the time we leave for the tournament.

I mentioned at the quiz meet that we were moving the quizzing website to eliminate the pop-ups, over which we had no control. The new site is at http://yfcquizzing.novinger.net. Please feel free to check it out and give us suggestions for how we can make the most of it.

Our last quiz will be March 13, at 1:00 pm at Emmanuel Baptist Church. The A/B League will quiz over I Peter 4:12 - II Peter 3:18, and the Little League over I Peter 3:8 - 5:14. Points earned this month will be doubled when accumulated for the year.

Following the regular quizzing rounds, we will have a final quiz to wrap up the year, just for the fun of it, with our top quizzers participating. Following this, we will close with a Pizza Party at the church, for all who would like to attend. Besides the pizza, it'll be a fun way to celebrate the completion of the quizzing year together. The cost will probably be $3.00-3.50 per person. When we start the day, we'll need a count of everyone planning to stay, so please make sure that everyone you represent is accounted for. There will be a sign-up sheet on the information table.

Besides the Pizza Party, I'd like to think of the March quiz as a kind of "open house" to encourage potential new quizzers and families to see what quizzing is like. Please encourage people you know to feel free to drop in throughout the afternoon, and perhaps especially for the closing quiz and for pizza. And if you know of visitors who would be staying for pizza, please include them in your count and let them know that pizza is on us that evening.

If you are borrowing a quiz box (either red or blue) from someone else, please turn it in at the March quiz (unless you need to use it in preparation for the Chicago Tournament, in which case you may turn it in afterwards). All of the borrowed quiz boxes need to be accounted for, and returned to their rightful owners. Extra boxes may be borrowed again next year.

Let's make this last day of quizzing a great day for everyone!
